Drones provide tremendous benefits and dividends for public safety. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) offer quick views of damaged structures or disaster areas, making response faster and saving lives.
How Firefighters and Police Departments Use Drones for Public Safety
Firefighters and search-and-rescue personnel can glean the data necessary to save lives of both citizens and first-responders, while also saving taxpayer and department money. Police departments can use thermal-imaging drones to find perpetrators and locate missing persons. When criminal activity is suspected, the authorities can rapidly deploy a drone for safe visual assessment of an area. Use of UAVs as a crime deterrent is becoming widespread, by securing an area via aerial probing.
